Naomi Lopez grew up in the Inland Empire and received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis, with an emphasis on community development through public policy. Seeing firsthand the disparities and lack of access to resources within immigrant communities led her to focus on bridging the gap between policymakers and the lived experiences of community members.
Naomi is motivated to fight for racial and social equity and has experience working in immigration law and pushing for affordable housing policies throughout some of California’s most vulnerable and under-resourced communities. She strongly believes that policymakers must adopt an inclusive approach with communities that are often excluded from decisions that directly impact their social livelihood and economic mobility. As the Policy Lead for IEIYC, Naomi hopes to advance the policy agenda for immigrant communities in the Inland Empire, advocate for immigrant justice, and build capacity for the generational well-being of the most marginalized.
